FAQs

  • We are 10 minutes south of 100 MIle House, just off the highway. For security and privacy we don’t share our exact address with people who haven’t yet booked and confirmed their stay.

Unfortunately we are not able to offer tours, we are a home boarding service, not a typical, large commercial kennel.

We also specialize in working with fearful and anxious dogs whose days would be hugely disrupted by having strangers visiting.

We are happy to answer any and all questions you have about your dogs potential stay and share videos and photos of our home and property. But if a tour is critical to your peace of mind we recommend going with another company. Your comfortability is just as important to us as your dogs!

  • Each day is a little bit different depending on the dogs staying with us, the season and my work from home schedule.

Our days usually start with morning cuddles, a potty walk, and breakfast served in a variety of enrichment activities best suited to each dog.

This is typically followed by a mid-morning nap for the dogs and some work for me.

Around midday we are up and ready for a hike, some playtime with a well matched buddy or some yard time soaking in the sun.

In the afternoon we tend to cycle through enrichment activities (puzzles, fun training games, chews, bird watching in the yard), walks and naps.

Then dinner time for the pups, while the humans make their meal and relax for a little bit.

Then another round of walks, playtime and enrichment activities before settling in for the evening. A little later it’s a potty walk and then bed time.

  • Our rates are $60 - $80, per day, per dog, depending on a few factors including the individual dogs behaviour and needs and the length of stay. (Please note we only accept boarding requests of at least 3 days).

We charge per day rather than per night in order to adequately compensate ourselves for the amount of work required to help your dog feel safe and at home in a new place. From prepping a safe place just for your dog, to setting up management strategies, to prepping enrichment activities, to preparing our resident dogs for a New Dog day, there is a lot that goes into intaking a new dog!

  • We do not accept dogs based on breed, however we are only able to accept boarding dogs who are less than 30lbs. Our specialty is in helping little dogs live their big dreams!

Otherwise we evaluate each boarding inquiry on an individual basis to determine if they are a good fit for the services we can provide.

Our service exists because little dogs have big needs.

A dog’s size is not an indicator of their personality or preferences.

Little dogs enjoy running, chasing, rolling, digging, barking, herding, shredding, hunting, exploring and sniffing just as much as larger dogs and need to be given regular opportunities to do so.

Creating those opportunities for our little dogs can be hard. Especially when we are bombarded by family, friends and even complete strangers with all the ways our little dogs aren’t up for adventure, or are somehow lesser than other, larger dogs.

Risk is always present. There is never an option (even for the big dogs) that eliminates all risk from daily life with our dogs.

It’s our job as our dog’s guardians to find the balance between risk and meeting their needs. Between our own comfort level and our dog’s quality of life.

And as small dog guardians we have a unique responsibility to recognize and provide opportunities for our dogs to be dogs and do typical dog things, especially because society has spent so many years ignoring or outright dismissing those needs.

Our small dogs need us to find ways to feel comfortable meeting those needs.

And if you’re curious about how exactly we mitigate risk for our littlest adventure dogs, everyone is welcome to a free consult call where we discuss your dog and the best options for them!
